18th colloquium for young scientists

Challenges in times of multiple crises
Climate, biodiversity, AI, New World Order

For two decades, wealthy countries have failed to invest adequately in climate mitigation and adaptation policies. Due to the overlapping crises since Corona, which are associated with enormous financial burdens, politicians worldwide continue to provide completely insufficient funding for the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. What are the solutions to this dilemma?

In this interdisciplinary face-to-face seminar with lectures and workshops, we will discuss the following topics:

  • A 3-degree world and the death of nature
  • What does “3 degrees more” mean for the Water-Energy-Nexus?
  • Biodiversity – luxury or livelihood?
  • Artificial intelligence – opportunities and risks for humanity
  • Wars and crises everywhere: where does the sustainable world order stand?

Moderation:
Dr. Marie-Luise Brunner, Tandem-Professor Environmental Campus Birkenfeld

The colloquium is aimed at doctoral and Master’s students from all disciplines, as well as Bachelor’s students who have already started their thesis.
