in 350 million hectares of pantropical forest

Kohlenstoffspeicherung

Tropical forests are the most productive forests in the world, as warm, humid conditions promote the rapid growth of large trees. As a result, tropical forests are the largest stores of carbon and biodiversity in the terrestrial biosphere. Conservation and protection of tropical ecosystems is therefore one of the most critical components in the fight against biodiversity loss and rising carbon concentrations in the atmosphere.
