Climate change in times of multiple crises
In order to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, global climate neutrality is necessary by the middle of the century. This goal was set as part of the Paris Climate Agreement and signed by 195 countries. But how can this (still) be achieved in times of increasing, permanent and multiple crises that are challenging societies?
In this face-to-face seminar, we offer lectures and workshops on the following topics:
- 3 DEGREES MORE – is there a climate tipping point for our society?
- Biodiversity – the disappearance of species
- Artificial intelligence and climate change
- A new geopolitical world order
The colloquium program is specifically designed for postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD students) as well as Bachelor’s students starting their thesis in all disciplines. The majority of the speakers will accompany the students throughout the entire colloquium, allowing for direct exchange at all times. The workshop phases in particular offer the opportunity for intensive collaboration and networking.
The conference venue is the modern conference and meeting center of the European Academy Otzenhausen in the North Saarland. It is located in the “heart of Europe” in the border triangle between Luxembourg, France and Germany on the edge of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park.
Travel, conference, accommodation and catering costs for the entire colloquium will be covered.
