There is no doubt that humans have an influence on the global climate. The emission of climate-relevant trace gases such as carbon dioxide into the atmosphere leads to additional warming of the earth’s surface and the lower layers of air – this is known as the “anthropogenic greenhouse effect”. As a result of this influence, the global climate will continue to warm up in the coming decades.
