Klima/Ozeane

From knowledge to action
Didactic modules

The topic of climate change is more topical than ever before. Almost every day, the media report on the latest findings from research and science. New forecasts are constantly being published. Skeptics’ arguments are presented and refuted by means of scientifically sound climate modeling, projections and scenarios. The economic aspects of climate change are also presented. International, European and national marine protection policies are used as a transition to the central political and individual activities.

The materials in the module deal intensively with what each individual can do to combat the threat of global warming in their everyday lives: “Everyone can protect the climate – CO2 tips for everyday life”, “How high are your CO2 emissions?” and “Drive smart and save fuel”. Participants will also gain an insight into the ocean system and the consequences of our actions for this system.

With the central questions: What is the climate system? What are the causes of climate change? How do climate and oceans influence each other? What can the economy and society do? – is the focus of the “Climate and Oceans” module. The complex system of climate and oceans is presented from the outside – looking at the earth from space – to the inside – wandering into the depths of the seas. The influencing factors, the interactions between the climate system and human societies are analyzed and the consequences identified.
