Marcel Hänggi studied history at the University of Zurich. He has been working as a journalist since 1996 and was, among other things, foreign editor of Weltwoche and science editor of the weekly newspaper. He has been a freelance science journalist since 2007. He received the Zurich Journalism Prize in 2007.
