James Gustave Speth has held the Chair of Environmental Law and Ethics at Vermont Law School since 2010. Previously, he served as environmental advisor to Jimmy Carter in the White House, headed the largest UN program for international development, served as dean of the environmental faculty at Yale University and co-founded two of the most important US environmental associations. He has been honored with numerous awards for his commitment to the environment.
